SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of initiating explosives, in particular to a method of producing diazodinitrophenol, which can be used in environmentally friendly flash-igniting compositions of igniter primers for small arms. Method of producing diazodinitrophenol involves diazotation of a suspension of picramine and acetic acids with a crystallisation regulator, which is an aqueous solution of glycerol with an additive of sulphanol, by uniform dosing of sodium nitrite solution with moderate stirring. Obtained bulk diazodinitrophenol has high apparent density.

EFFECT: method provides reduction of total time for obtaining the product, wherein one-stage process is allowed; as well as advantage is reduction of hazard class of used components, use of less aggressive acetic acid, which requires less protection of equipment from corrosion, as well as use of low mixing speeds.
