SUBSTANCE: device for upsampling image data from a first video level to a second video level comprises an input for receiving image data at a first video level; a processor for generating first upsampled data by filtering image data at a first video level; generating first intermediate data by scaling first upsampled data by a first shift parameter; generating second upsampled data by filtering first intermediate data, wherein filtering first intermediate data is carried out on a second spatial direction using a second rounding-off parameter; generating second intermediate data by scaling second upsampled data by second shift parameter; and generating output upsampled data for the second video level by cutting off second intermediate data.
EFFECT: technical result consists in maintaining accuracy of upsampling operations.
