FIELD: packaging industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to packing of tobacco products. Device for arrangement of rod-shaped products comprises: bin, main supply device arranged vertically above hopper, lateral supply device, which is at least partially spaced from the hopper in a direction perpendicular to the closed conveyor transportation direction, note here that lateral feeder end part terminates vertically above hopper. System for forming a predetermined group of rod-shaped articles, in particular smoking articles, comprises a device, rod-shaped articles and pockets; wherein each pocket is adapted to hold a predetermined number of articles in a given group, and in said predetermined group each article occupies a predetermined position within the pocket; hopper comprises a plurality of hopper compartments, and each hopper compartment is connected to one predetermined position in the pocket; main feed device supplies first subset of hopper compartments with first articles; lateral feeding device supplies second subset of hopper compartments with second articles; device comprises an additional feeder that supplies the third subset of hopper compartments with third articles. Proposed method comprises feeding first articles downwardly into hopper; lateral feeder feeds second articles along the feed path through the lateral feeder into the bin so that the second articles are fed by gravity along the entire feed path through the lateral feeder into the hopper, wherein the downstream end portion of the lateral feeder terminates vertically above the hopper; bin receives the first and second articles and collects them for supply into pockets.
EFFECT: invention enables efficient use of space along the production line path to form a given group of rod-shaped articles.
