METHOD OF MAKING A BOOK FOR BLIND CHILDREN AND VISUALLY IMPAIRED CHILDREN Russian patent published in 2020 - IPC B41M3/16 

FIELD: printing industry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to printing industry and can be used in making a book of educational materials for visually impaired children. Method of making a book for blind and visually impaired children involves forming relief images on the pages intended for book pages, obtaining book sheets with subsequent binding, wherein the substrates are made from a foamed polymer, forming a relief image on the substrate is carried out by means of a CNC machine tool, which drive moves the working member along the path described in the control program, partially removing the substrate material layer, obtaining a relief image in the form of braille text and pictures, wherein formation of a relief image on the substrate is carried out on one of the sides, and then the substrate is turned over, and relief images are formed on the other side, resulting in a book sheet with relief images on both of its pages. Foamed polymer used is an elastomer of polymer plastics, which is ethylene vinyl acetate with 10–50 % content of vinyl acetate, having hardness in range of 30–80 Shore units. CNC machine is used as a CNC machine, where the optical beam is used as a processing tool. CNC lathe used is a machine tool, where a knife, a cutter or a blade acts as a processing tool.

EFFECT: technical result is a simple method of making a book for blind and visually impaired children with high efficiency and broad functional capabilities with low manufacturing costs.
