METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR AUTOMATED DRIVING OF FREIGHT TRAINS OF INCREASED WEIGHT AND LENGTH WITH LOCOMOTIVES DISTRIBUTED THROUGHOUT THE LENGTH OF TRAIN Russian patent published in 2020 - IPC B61C17/12

Abstract RU 2729157 C1

FIELD: railway equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to railway equipment and can be used for automated driving of freight trains of increased weight and length, in which several locomotives are used, which are distributed along train length, including connected trains. Method for automated driving of freight trains of increased weight and length with locomotives distributed over the length of the train consists in the fact that in case of communication between the driving and driven locomotives along the main or backup channels, generalized modes of train driving are determined on the leading locomotive with their transmission through communication channels to the slave locomotives in the form of a task. In absence of communication between driving and driven locomotives along main and backup channels during time exceeding total duration of two receiving packages, driven locomotives switch to autonomous operation with independent selection of generalized modes of conducting a train and using own databases and readings of their instruments, and performing autonomous operation until communication is restored. Group of inventions also relates to a system for automated driving of freight trains of increased weight and length with locomotives distributed throughout the length of the train.

EFFECT: increased reliability of operation at loss of communication between locomotives.
