FIELD: wireless communication equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to wireless communication engineering, particularly to a beam selection mechanism. Method is realized by means of the first receiving-transmitting radio device. Method involves obtaining estimates of the quality of a communication line of a radio signal transmitted to a first receiving / transmitting radio device from a second receiving / transmitting radio device by means of at least a first beam extracted from the first set of beams and a second beam. Second beam is wider than first beam. Method comprises selection of which of the first beam and the second beam should be used for long-term radio signal exchange with the second transceiver radio device, in accordance with the comparison between the first beam link quality estimates and the compensated second beam link quality estimates.

EFFECT: technical result consists in obtaining good performance and capacity for a given communication protocol when performing a beam selection procedure.
