SUBSTANCE: invention relates to devices and a method for mixing and processing materials, for example, for fermentative treatment of organic material. Rotary drum device for mixing and processing materials comprises: rotary drum arranged so that drum length and drum rotational axis extend horizontally; an inlet in a first position on the drum for receiving materials before mixing and/or processing; screw 14 inside drum for materials mixing during their transportation along drum length, besides, screw 14 comprises spiral blade, passing along the drum length, and the outer edge of the spiral blade is attached to the drum inner surface, so that the material can be transported and mixed in separate volumes 16 between each turn of screw 14; outlet in second position along drum for material outlet after mixing and/or treatment; and plurality of mixing devices 18 to facilitate mixing of material in each of separate volumes 16 of material during transportation of material along screw 14, note here that multiple mixing devices 18 are located at distance along screw 14 and there is at least one mixing device 18 for every turn of screw blade 14.

EFFECT: invention provides a simple mixing mechanism for creating suspensions or other mixtures from raw materials, including both solid and liquid substances, as well as for biological treatment of materials, to change the nature of materials, for example, during fermentation and other microbial treatment, hydrolysis and other stages of enzymatic treatment.
