SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to cardiology, and can be used for individual selection of antihypertensive drugs. Instrumental examination is performed in the patients: the stroke volume index (SVI), specific peripheral vascular resistance (SPVR) and heart rate (HR) are determined. Most preferable antihypertensive drug (AHD) is selected by determining the highest correlation between the patient's system haemodynamics and the pharmacodynamic AHD effect. Most preference is given to preparations having a normalizing effect on SVI, SPVR, HR and not affecting parameters that are within normal limits.

EFFECT: disclosed method provides higher quality of life in this category of patients, reduces the risk of cardiovascular complications, higher clinical effectiveness ensured by the most adequate selection of AHD based on the maximum objectification of the diagnostic process and consideration of all possible versions of the ratio of cardiac haemodynamics.
