FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a mass exchange column and a structured packing module used to facilitate mass and heat exchange between fluids in a column. Module comprises a plurality of structured packing sheets arranged vertically and in parallel to each other, wherein each sheet has corrugations formed by alternating peaks, recesses and side walls of the corrugation, which extend between adjacent peaks and recesses, wherein sheets are made and ordered so that corrugations of each sheets pass at indirect angle to corrugations of each of adjacent sheets, and specific surface area of sheets in module as whole exceeds 100 m2/m3, and a plurality of openings in structured packing sheets to allow passage of fluid through sheets, wherein holes of each of sheets are open for each of adjacent sheets and substantially do not create obstacles, wherein the holes are distributed in each of the sheets such that the side walls of the corrugation have a higher density of open zones formed by the openings compared to any density of any open zones on the peaks and troughs. Mass exchange column comprises a cage defining an open inner area and at least one structured packed module inside the open inner area.
EFFECT: invention provides increased specific surface area of nozzle, higher efficiency without considerable pressure drop in nozzle, or reduced pressure drop without reducing efficiency.
