FIELD: powder metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of structural articles from titanium or its alloy. From titanium or titanium alloy powder with average particle size <25 mcm, followed by sintering at temperature of up to 1080 °C for not more than 5 hours in atmosphere, which is under reduced pressure in comparison with normal pressure. An article with density of more than 97 % is obtained. Product has a globular α-structure with average grain size <30 mcm or structure, including α-structure with average grain size <30 mcm and plate (α+β)-structure with average grain size of primary β-phase <90 mcm, or plate-like (α+β)-structure with average grain size of primary β-phase <120 mcm.

EFFECT: formation of optimum structure and properties of the article, as well as possibility of controlling properties during sintering.
