FIELD: catalysts.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a method for crosslinked composition. Method includes the stages of: (a) providing an ethylene-alpha-olefin plastomer; (b) grafting an ethylene-alpha-olefin plastomer with a silane crosslinking agent by the formula CH2=CR-(COO)x(CnH2n)ySiR'3 so that the content of the silane crosslinking agent is in the range from 0.1 to 10.0 wt.% relative to the grafted ethylene-alpha-olefin plastomer; (c) interacting said grafted ethylene-alpha-olefin plastomer with 2 to 8 wt.% of a tin-free silane crosslinking catalyst relative to the resulting mixture, forming an intermediate composition and further forming a crosslinked composition containing at least 60% gel. The ethylene-alpha-olefin plastomer constitutes a copolymer of ethylene with 1-octene and has a density from 850 kg/m3 to 900 kg/m3 and a melt flow rate from 0.3 to 50 g/10 min. The tin-free catalyst contains an aromatic sulphonic acid including the formula Ar(SO3H)x. Stage (c) is conducted in an extruder and at a temperature from 120 to 210°C. The content of gel in said crosslinked composition after 15 minutes is at least 60%.
EFFECT: development of a method for high-speed crosslinking of grafted plastomers.
