FIELD: printing equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of decorated natural leather and leather products. Method of decorating genuine leather with a decorative image involves: applying a coating containing a pigment to obtain an achromatic colour other than black; in-line printing a colour image on a base coating using one or more pigmented UV-curable inkjet inks; where achromatic colour, other than black colour, substrate coating and colour image printed by inkjet printing, in combination provide decorative image.
EFFECT: invention provides for skin decoration characterized by high image quality and colour consistency in the absence of deterioration of reliability of jet printing or physical properties, such as flexibility.
