SUBSTANCE: invention relates to aerosol-generating articles and methods of making said articles. Aerosol-generating article (2) comprises aerosol-forming substrate (4), combustible heat source (3) and at least one layer of fiber-reinforced aerogel (5), surrounding at least part of length of combustible heat source (3). Aerosol-generating article (2) also comprises one or more airflow passages along which air can be drawn through article (2) for inhalation by a user, and one or more non-combustible substantially air-permeable partitions between combustible heat source (3) and aerosol-forming substrate (4).
EFFECT: invention allows reducing the surface temperature near the heat source and can be easily and efficiently assembled.
