SUBSTANCE: invention relates to means for adjusting screen brightness. It is detected whether the screen is in a landscape state. It is detected whether a touch operation is performed in the first area and in the second area of the screen, wherein the first area is located next to the light sensor, and the second area is different from the first area on the screen. When the screen is in a landscape state, and the touch operation is carried out in both the first area and the second area, determining that the light sensor is obstructed. Frequency of reports on touch operation in the first area and in the second area is detected. Report frequency for the first region is compared with the predetermined first report threshold, and the frequency of the reports for the second area is compared with the predetermined second reporting threshold. Determining whether the light sensor is obstructed based on the comparison results. Current brightness of the screen is maintained when observing that the light sensor is obstructed.
EFFECT: technical result consists in prevention of incorrect adjustment of brightness and high accuracy of controlling brightness of the screen.
