FIELD: measuring equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to measurement equipment and method of determining size of particles of ground product. Method consists in forming a horizontal surface of a sample, irradiating the surface of the sample with light-emitting diode radiation, receiving the optical signal with a radiation detector, amplifying the signal and processing it to obtain particle size. Surface of the sample is exposed to light-emitting diode radiation in range of 424±20 nm with photoluminescence excitation during 18–22 mcs. Optical signal is received by detecting the flux of photoluminescent radiation by a radiation detector with a sensitivity range of 450–550 nm through 0.5–1 mcs after irradiation. Signal processing is carried out using a linear calibration equation of the corresponding ground product.

EFFECT: technical result consists in improvement of speed and accuracy of measurements.
