FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy, particularly, to production of beryllium foil, which can be used in various industries. Method of vacuum bilaterial foil production from beryllium includes beryllium billet in metal cover, its sealing, heating to rolling temperature, multipass rolling of beryllium workpiece in metal cover with intermediate exposures and heating, cooling, removal of jacket and grinding of produced foil surface. Beryllium billet is represented by distilled beryllium, beryllium blank is heated in metal jacket to 910–950 °C and multi-pass rolling with relative reduction from 1 to 10 % per pass, wherein after each passage, intermediate exposures are carried out for 3–5 minutes and rolling direction is changed first to 90° to achieve total degree of deformation of 60 %, and then - by 180° to achieve total degree of deformation of 97 %.
EFFECT: receive a vacuum-tight foil of beryllium thickness from 300 microns to 100 microns and up to area of 600 cm2, this does not change the chemical composition of beryllium in comparison with the initial workpiece in foil provided with the required characteristics of X-ray transparency and vacuum density.
