METHOD FOR PREDICTION OF RISK OF DEVELOPING INTRAUTERINE INFECTIONS OF NEWBORN BY MORPHOMETRIC PARAMETERS OF TERMINAL PLACENTAL VILLI Russian patent published in 2020 - IPC A61B5/00 G01N33/48

Abstract RU 2731800 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to pathologic anatomy. To predict the risk of developing intrauterine infection in the newborn, the average number of capillaries and the average distance from the capillaries to syncytiotrophoblast in the terminal placenta fibres obtained from full-term and premature pregnancies in the first hours after birth are determined. Newborn is referred to a risk group of intrauterine infection with an average number of capillaries in 5 fields of vision in terminal fibers of each of placentas 5.28–5.42 and distance from capillaries to syncytiotrophoblast 1.47–1.77 mcm in placenta of full-term pregnancy and with average number of capillaries in terminal villus 3.78–4.16 and distance from capillaries to syncytiotrophoblast of 2.0–2.40 mcm in placenta of premature pregnancy, completed in 30–36 weeks of gestation.

EFFECT: method enables predicting a risk of intrauterine infection in newborns in a short period of time with low economic costs.
