FIELD: medicine; bacteriology; mycology; resuscitation; intensive therapy.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to a method for detecting bacterial and fungal pathogens of nosocomial infections from the blood of patients with suspected sepsis. Method envisages microbiological examination of a hemofilter used in extracorporeal detoxification of patients with sepsis, and involves several consecutive stages. Liquid from the used hemofilter is sown on a standard set of nutrient microbiological media. Then the sterile physiologic saline is poured into the hemofilter and placed into thermostat for 24 hours. This liquid is repeatedly sown to nutrient media. If microorganisms grow, they are identified.
EFFECT: method is simple in implementation, highly efficient, is implemented without using additional expensive equipment, is universal, can be used in any bacteriological laboratory.
