FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to symmetrical high-frequency sealed cables of reduced fire hazard for data transmission used in shipbuilding, in particular, on underwater vessels. High-frequency symmetric sealed cable includes a core consisting of at least one pair of twisted insulated conductors and filled with sealing filler based on low-molecular rubber. Core is enclosed in common metal screen, as well as outer protective shell. Sealing filler is formed by a composition of low-molecular weight SKTN rubber of 100 pts. wt., catalyst of 3–5 pts. wt. and a mixture of mineral fire retardants 30–100 pts. wt.
EFFECT: invention provides reduced fire hazard of the cable by the following parameters: non-propagation of burning in a group gasket, smoke formation during combustion and smouldering; higher resistance of cable to radial loads and, consequently, stability of frequency characteristics of cable when exposed to external radial pressure.
