FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions refers to a polypeptide having protease activity for treating or preventing microbial infections in a subject suffering immunodeficiency or susceptible to immunodeficiency, where the microbial infection is a runny nose, and/or a fungal infection of the oral cavity, and/or an inflammation of the gums containing or consisting of an amino acid sequence, which is a variant of SEQ ID NO: 1 or fragment thereof, variant or hybrid or hybrid of said fragment or version preserving trypsin activity of said amino acid sequence, having at least 95 % identity with SEQ ID No: 1 and having mutation L63I relative to SEQ ID No: 1. Group of inventions also relates to use of said polypeptide in preparing a medicament for treating or preventing microbial infections in a subject, suffering from immunodeficiency or susceptible to immunodeficiency; method of treating or preventing microbial infections in a subject suffering immunodeficiency or susceptible to immunodeficiency.
EFFECT: group of inventions provides treating or preventing a cold, and/or fungal infection of the oral cavity, and/or inflammation of the gums.
