FIELD: agriculture; forestry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods for thermal treatment of different types of biomass, in particular, granulated biomass - agricultural wastes, logging, woodworking. Method includes: after activation of exothermic reaction as a result of thermic decomposition of hemicellulose, supply of heating heat carrier into reactor is stopped, and heating and pyrolysis of fresh portions of biomass is carried out by heat of exothermic reactions transferred from lower heated layers to upper layers of loaded granulated biomass by pyrolysis gases and water vapour rising from cooling section, thereby establishing an autothermal mode. Thermally treated biomass granules are unloaded into cooling section, where they are cooled down without access of oxygen due to water fine spraying, and the formed superheated steam rising to the pyrolysis zone provides additional convective heat transfer of the exothermic reactions.
EFFECT: technical result of the invention is the production of solid hydrocarbon fuel with improved process characteristics and the biomass pyrolysis process with minimum power inputs.
