FIELD: geoelectric exploration by electromagnetic field formation methods.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to detect three-dimensional objects in a medium. Method comprises: three-dimensional object search method includes formation of alternating electromagnetic field of transverse-magnetic (TM) polarization, measurement of magnetic and electrical components of electromagnetic transient response signal of analyzed medium and measurement interpretation. Interpretation is carried out based on signals obtained using a three-dimensional model. For this purpose based on measured values of derivative by time of vertical component of magnetic field there determined is initial approximation of center of three-dimensional inhomogeneity, over which sign signal change takes place. Initial approximation of the boundaries of the object is determined from the signal of the time derivative of the horizontal angular magnetic component which, when approaching the boundaries of the object, changes sign. Signals of the time derivative of the horizontal angular magnetic component of the electromagnetic field above the object between the near-boundary boundary and its center have the highest value. Near-to-source of variable electromagnetic field of TM polarization boundary of unknown objects is determined from electric component of electromagnetic field, which character of signal changes abruptly at transition of object boundary. Formation of variable electromagnetic field of TM polarization can be performed by means of circular electric dipole or by means of vertical line.
EFFECT: technical result is high resolution and depth of electrical prospecting.
