FIELD: power engineering.
SUBSTANCE: in the method of heat pickup from the surface of fuel elements consisting in the fact that coolant is supplied to a heat-releasing surface of a heat-transmitting device and swirled, the coolant is additionally swirled relative to the axis lying at the angle to the longitudinal axis of the main swirled flow.
EFFECT: higher intensity of heat pickup due to reaction of vortices with a heat-releasing surface, which results in intense heat mass exchange between a flow core and a wall layer.
