FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy, namely to production of massive profiles from high-strength deformed aluminum alloys of Al-Zn-Mg-Cu system with additives of transition metals Sc, Zr, Ti. Method involves homogenization of ingots according to a two-step mode, their machining to produce blanks with diameter less than diameter of the press container and pressing of blanks with their further hardening thermal treatment. Compression is performed at temperature from 280 to 350 °C in two stages – preliminary and final. Preliminary stage is carried out due to transverse deformation by means of horizontal press prepressing in container or by free settling on vertical press with deformation of 40–60 %. Final pressing is carried out on horizontal press with direct metal flow with drawing from 20 to 40 at metal flow rate from 0.4 to 0.8 m/min after intermediate holding in container of press between preliminary and final pressing with duration of 5–20 minutes.
EFFECT: obtaining massive profiles with stable strength characteristics at relative elongation of not less than 3 %.
