FIELD: biotechnology.

SUBSTANCE: method of producing a methionine-gamma-lyase enzyme (MGL) and an anti-tumor drug FDF MGL based on said enzyme. Method using strain E.coli MDG1216 enables to synthesise up to 45 % MGL, in terms of total cell protein, with specific activity of 15 to 32 units/mg with Km of about 0.7±0.11 mM in reactions γ-elimination for natural substrate L-methionine.

EFFECT: declared therapeutic agent of FDF MGL possess antitumour effect (more than 50 % of TGI), that is demonstrated when using it for tumor growth inhibition—melanoma B 16—by combined therapy in combination with pyridoxine, as well as for tumor growth inhibition—non-small-cell lung cancer—by combined therapy in combination with dexorubicin.
