FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to identification of conductors. Essence: control acoustic signals differing by frequency, power and shape are supplied to any part of each of the desired conductors. Presence of control acoustic signals is controlled on other parts of unknown conductors and parts of conductors laid parallel to them. Those conductors in which the control acoustic signals are present or have the highest power, if they are present in other conductors, this feature is identified as the desired conductors. Frequency, power and shape of signals are detected in detected unknown conductors. Different unknown conductors are identified with respect to frequency, power and shape of acoustic signal present in them.

EFFECT: technical result is possibility of simultaneous identification of several conductors without disconnection of conductors from mains and without removal of insulation from them.
