METHOD AND DEVICE FOR DIAGNOSING BROKEN WIRES AND CABLE CORES USING ACOUSTIC SIGNALS Russian patent published in 2023 - IPC G01R31/58 G01N29/04

Abstract RU 2809137 C1

FIELD: automation.

SUBSTANCE: invention is intended for acoustic diagnostics of broken wires and cable cores. Essence: acoustic signals with a given shape, frequency and intensity are supplied using an acoustic diagnostic device. On the other side of the wires or cable cores, acoustic signals are recorded taking into account the shape, frequency and intensity specified for each wire or cable core. If there is no acoustic signal from the second side on one or more wires or cable cores, the operation of the acoustic diagnostic device is monitored. When the acoustic break diagnostic devices are in working condition, they make a conclusion about the break of these wires or cable cores and inform the network manager about the break, indicating the specific broken wires or cable cores. The device for diagnosing broken wires and cable cores contains vibration speakers, piezoelectric sensors, acoustic signal conversion devices, acoustic signal recognition devices, an acoustic signal generation unit with a specified periodicity, shape, frequency and intensity, an information storage, processing and display unit, the first and second performance monitoring units, the first and second blocks of data reception and transmission, communication channels, the network manager.

EFFECT: increasing the reliability of power supply to consumers by diagnosing broken wires and cable cores using acoustic signals.
