FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metrology, in particular to devices for identification of desired conductor. Device for identifying wires and cables using an acoustic signal comprises an audio frequency generator made on a first microcontroller, a digital sound pressure level indicator made on a second microcontroller, information receiving device, a signal amplification device, two vibration loudspeakers, a pickup, two liquid crystal displays, a conductor. At that, outputs of vibration loudspeakers are connected to outputs of signal amplification device, first input of which is connected to output of audio frequency generator, made on first microcontroller, second - to output of information receiving device, outputs of first LCD are connected directly to inputs of first microcontroller, outputs of cartridge are connected to inputs of digital indicator of sound pressure level, made on second microcontroller, to inputs of which second LCD is connected.
EFFECT: technical result is possibility of making measurements without removal of insulation from conductors.
