FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to layer-by-layer production of articles from powder, for example, nickel heat-resistant alloys, cobalt-based alloys and precious metals. Device includes a construction chamber with a system for maintaining a working medium in the chamber, a construction platform with a post and a vertical drive, a basket for accommodating the platform and drive thereof, at least one powder feed device, squeegee for levelling the powder layer on the construction platform, placed in the basket under the construction platform and connected to the system for maintaining a working medium in the chamber, a container for collecting excess powder and a laser-optical device configured to fuse powder layers according to a predetermined program of the three-dimensional computer model of the article. Device is equipped with screen attached to top inner part of basket, side surface of which is made equidistant to lateral surface of platform of construction, and seal installed on side surface of screen between screen and platform of construction. According to the method, on the working surface of the construction platform, at least one powder is supplied layer by layer, the layer is levelled and the sections of the layer are alloyed by the laser beam, identical to sections on transverse sections pre-formed by means of specified program of three-dimensional computer model-products, wherein sealing shell is made in every layer on outer boundary coinciding in plan with platform boundary.
EFFECT: reduced amount of used powder at simultaneous reliability and durability of device operation.
