SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to absorbent article (1) comprising main portion (2) having liquid-permeable topsheet (3), liquid-impermeable backsheet (4) and absorbent core (5) disposed between said topsheet (3) and said rear sheet (4), wherein said main part (2) is located along longitudinal axis (Y1) and transverse axis (X1) extending perpendicular to longitudinal axis (Y1), wherein in said main part (2) there are front part (6), rear part (7) and perineal part (8), wherein said article (1) comprises first winglet (9) and second winglet (10) extending outwardly from said crotch portion (8) of main portion (2) in opposite directions asymmetrically relative to longitudinal axis (Y1) and substantially along said transverse axis (X1), wherein said winglets (9, 10) are provided with fastening means (11, 12) configured to attach said winglets (9, 10) to the garment when folded relative to said garment main part (2) and towards said longitudinal axis (Y1). In addition, each winglet has a first edge portion (20) extending substantially along a first straight line (20a), and second edge portion (21) extending substantially along second straight line (21a), wherein first line (20a) forms a first angle (α2) with respect to longitudinal axis (Y1), and second line (21a) forms second angle (α3) relative to longitudinal axis (Y1), wherein value of said angles (α2, α3) is selected such that α2 < α3.
