FIELD: radar ranging.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to detection of objects in airspace, and more specifically to methods of detecting small unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) by measuring acoustic velocity of particles together with radar measurements. To achieve technical result, method of detecting small UAV is provided, at which radar signatures and acoustic signatures of objects in airspace of view are received simultaneously, and then comparing received signatures of said objects with known signatures of unmanned aerial vehicles and with known signatures of birds.
EFFECT: technical result is simultaneous radar measurement of Doppler and micro-Doppler effects caused by UAV flight with rotating propellers and flight of birds with wings flapping, and acoustic velocity measurement of particles of acoustic waves emitted by rotating propellers UAV, which enables to detect radar and acoustic signatures of UAV and birds by comparison with known signatures of UAV and birds from constantly updated library of known signatures.
