FIELD: powder metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions includes an iron-based powder composition, use of halloysite, a method of producing a powdered composition, a method of producing a sintered part and a sintered part. Powder composition based on iron contains 0.01–1.0 % by weight, improves processability of additive, containing halloysite in powder form with particle size X90 less than 50 mcm and X90 more than 0.5 mcm. Powder composition based on iron is obtained by mixing an iron-based powder with a processability-improving additive containing halloysite. Iron-based sintered part is obtained by pressing an iron based powder composition at a pressing pressure of 400–1200 MPa and sintering the pressed part at temperature of 700–1350 °C.
EFFECT: higher machinability of cutting without changing mechanical properties.
