FIELD: communication equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in wireless communication systems. To this end, user equipment (UE) comprises a processor and memory in electronic communication with a processor. UE receives an uplink (UL) grant for one or more UL LAA subframes from one or more downlink control information (DCI). UE also determines the format or structure of a physical shared uplink data link (PUSCH) UL LAA for UL LAA subframe. UE then determines whether listening before transmission (LBT) is required for the scheduled LAA PUSCH. If required, UE determines a UL competitive access area based on the UL provision for the UL LAA subframe. UE also determines a UL competitive access method in the competitive access area. UE then performs competitive access to the UL in the UL competitive access area. UE further transmits LAA PUSCH if access to the channel is successful.

EFFECT: technical result consists in improvement of carrying capacity due to determination of competitive access area.
