SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of rolling. Device for replacement of pair of upper and lower working rolls in rolling mill for rolling of strip passed through it comprises holding block of working rolls detachably holding two pairs of working rolls consisting of upper and lower rolls, in positions separated from each other in the strip filling direction, and made with possibility of the work rolls movement in the strip filling direction, the roll holding device, including a holding block of working rolls and configured to move in the direction of the roll axis relative to the rolling mill in a state of holding the working rolls with the holding block of the working rolls, and a work roll transfer device configured to move in a direction intersecting with the holding device roll movement path, and configured to install working rolls, wherein the roll holding device is configured to recoil working rolls to a device for transferring working rolls or receiving them from a transfer device of working rolls, which has been moved to the movement path of the holding roller of the device.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to increase efficiency of rolls replacement process due to reduction of rolls replacement time at simultaneous transfer of used pair of rolls from rolling mill and new pair of rolls to rolling mill.
