SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to biotechnology. Disclosed is a method of detecting an analyte using a sensor (embodiments) and an analyte detection system. Methods involve using a sensor with an analyte-specific enzyme and an electronic transport mediator with a working electrode, providing a working electrode with an analyte, accumulating a charge, connecting the working electrode to the circuit and measuring the signal from the accumulated charge. System comprises working electrode arranged on working electrode and containing analytical-specific enzyme and mediator of electronic transport sensitive element, as well as circuit for connection with working electrode after specified period of time and measurement of signal from accumulated charge. Sensitive element is configured to accumulate obtained from analyte charge, and the electronic transport mediator contains a redox substance selected from a compound of osmium, ruthenium, iron and cobalt bound with a polymer selected from polyvinylpyridine, polythiophene, polyaniline, polypyrrole or polyacetylene.
EFFECT: invention provides detection of low concentrations of analyte.
