SUBSTANCE: test element for determining hydroxybutyrate and glucose containing a first coenzyme-dependent enzyme or a substrate for the first enzyme (hydroxybutyrate dehydrogenase), second coenzyme-dependent enzyme or a substrate for the second enzyme (glucose dehydrogenase or glucose oxidase), a coenzyme selected from thio-NAD, thio-NADP, and a compound of formula (I). Reagent material for determining hydroxybutyrate, containing 3-hydroxybutyrate dehydrogenase and a coenzyme, which is thio-NAD, thio-NADP, carba-NAD, carba-NADP, is proposed. Test element comprising a test strip for electrochemical determination of the first and second analytes, comprising said first reagent material for determining hydroxybutyrate and the second reagent material for determining glucose, is proposed. Method for determining glucose and ketone levels in a body fluid sample using the above test elements is proposed.
EFFECT: group of inventions provides a fast (up to 10 seconds) and simultaneous determination of analytes - glucose and hydroxybutyrate in the sample, that increases convenience and improves safety for the user during, for example, glucose and ketone analysis.
