SUBSTANCE: electrochemical sensor strips may include not more than 8 mcg/mm2 of a mediator. The strips and the strip reagent layer enable determination of concentration values, wherein at least one of the values of stability bias is less than ±10% after storage at 50° C for 4 weeks when compared to a strip stored at 20° C for 4 weeks, hematocrit bias of less than ±10% for whole blood samples including from 20 to 60% hematocrit, and an intercept to slope ratio of not more than 20 mg/dl. Also disclosed is a method of determining concentration of analyte in a sample.
EFFECT: invention provides a system for quantitative determination of analytes in biological fluids, particularly for determining glucose content in whole blood, which reduce bias caused by the hematocrit effect.
