SUBSTANCE: exhaust gases control device includes an SCR-catalyst placed in the outlet channel, a heating device which heats the SCR-catalyst, urea solution supply device, which supplies a urea solution to the upstream side of the SCR catalyst, a controller which controls the heating device and the urea solution supply device, and at least one sensor, which receives information associated with the state of the exhaust gas control device. Controller performs the state determination process to determine whether or not the exhaust gas control device is presently in a predetermined state, in which the ammonia cannot be adsorbed on the SCR catalyst, based on the information from at least one sensor and the heating prevention process to prevent heating of the SCR catalyst by the heating device regardless of the operating state of the internal combustion engine, when the exhaust gas control device is currently in a predetermined state.
EFFECT: exhaust gas control device for an internal combustion engine is disclosed.
