METHOD OF TREATING DEGENERATIVE INJURY OF TENDON OF A LONG HEAD OF BICEPS MUSCLE OF SHOULDER Russian patent published in 2020 - IPC A61B17/00 

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to traumatology and orthopedics, and is used for surgical management of degenerative injures of a tendon of a long head of biceps. An arthroscopic approach to the shoulder joint is performed, a front working port is formed, through which a Kocher's clamp is inserted into the joint, and a tendon of the long head of biceps muscles of the shoulder is clamped to them. An additional anterosuperior arthroscopic port is used to insert an ablator into the joint and dissect the tendon from the attachment point to the supraglenoidal tubercle. Then it is fixed with a clamp and removed from the joint by traction of the clamp and additionally fixed by another clamp above the skin. Further, the derived fragment of the proximal portion of the tendon of the long head of the biceps is sutured with vicryl No. 1 filaments to form a thickening in the form of a tendon duplication exceeding the diameter of the natural canal of the intertubercular sulcus. Then, the tendon is returned inside the joint; the thickened portion of the tendon is blocked above the intertubercular sulcus.

EFFECT: method enables to prevent distal migration of the tendon of the long head of the biceps muscle by forming a tendon thickening in the form of duplication exceeding the intertubercular canal, and reduce intraoperative injuries by eliminating the need to form bone channels.
