FIELD: vehicles.
SUBSTANCE: disclosed is a method of controlling engagement and recovering cohesion of wheels of controlled axles of a railway vehicle during a slippage phase. Speed signals showing angular speed of said wheels are generated. Values of instantaneous engagement at the point of contact between said wheels and rails by means of engaging device (701) are estimated. Generating wheel axles target axles target values by optimization algorithm, processing design values and continuously changing said target slip value with predetermined sampling period duration (T), so as to maximize vehicle wheel adhesion average value.
EFFECT: higher adhesion and reduced slippage of wheels of controlled axles of railway vehicle.
