FIELD: measurement technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to means of calculating the speed of a railway vehicle in conditions of caring all axes of the car. Method includes steps of: generating speed signals indicating angular velocity (ω) of wheels (W) of said at least one axis (A); evaluation in form of a function of said angular velocity (ω) of adhesion value (μ) in contact area of wheels (W) of said axis (A) and rails using engaging mechanism (1201) and calculation of bumper value (δ) wheel speed (W) of said controlled axis (A), generation of signals representing derivative (dμ/dδ) of said clutch (μ) in form of bumper function (δ) of wheels (W) of said axis (A); generation of control signal (C(Tj+1)) for torque control means (1205), which controls the value of torque applied to wheels (W) of said axis (A), by means of adaptive control (1204) by said derived signals (dμ/dδ), which are function of error signal (e((Tj+1)), indicating difference between value of said derivative (dμ/dδ) and predetermined initial value so as to reduce the value of said difference to almost zero and store said value; application of said control signal (C(Tj+1)) to said torque control means (1205) with subsequent calculation of vehicle speed in the form of linear speed of said at least one axis (A).
EFFECT: the movement speed estimation accuracy is improved.
