SUBSTANCE: method of providing an aerosol-generating device for use with a transformable aerosol-forming substrate includes a step on which an aerosol-generating device is provided, comprising a device housing comprising a pressing cavity. Padding cavity at least partially corresponds to pressing space between first mold half and mold second mold half, wherein said first and second half-molds are inner surfaces of the housing of the device. Method further includes a step of providing a flat aerosol-generating substrate, made with possibility of changing shape at its pressing inside pressing cavity and transformed into non-planar aerosol-forming substrate. Present invention also relates to a flat aerosol-generating article and to an aerosol-generating device.

EFFECT: disclosed are a method of providing an aerosol-generating device, an aerosol-generating device and a flat aerosol-generating article for use in such a device.
