SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a method of providing an aerosol-generating device for use with a transformable in form of an aerosol-forming substrate, and to a flat aerosol-generating article for use in such an apparatus. Method for providing an aerosol-generating device for use with a transformable aerosol-forming substrate includes a step of providing a device, generating aerosol comprising a device housing comprising a molding cavity. Pressing cavity at least partially corresponds to space for pressing between first half of mold and second half of mold, wherein said first mold half and second mold half are inner surfaces of device housing. Method further includes a step of providing a flat aerosol-forming substrate, made with possibility of change of shape at its pressing inside cavity for pressing, and transformed into non-planar substrate forming aerosol. Present invention also relates to a flat aerosol-generating article and to a set comprising a flat aerosol-generating article and a device which generates an aerosol.
