SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for chamfering holes on outer and inner sides. Milling head comprises a head body comprising a socket for insertion and a star-like indexable cutting insert detachably retained in the seat. Cutting insert has star-shaped upper and lower surfaces connected by peripheral surface crossing each of upper and lower surfaces. Cutting insert comprises multiple inner and outer angular parts alternating in circumference. Cutting section is formed by each outer corner part together with adjacent first inner corner part, located in direction of rotation of said outer angular part, and adjacent second inner angular part located behind in direction of rotation of said outer angular part. Each cutting section comprises a cutting edge for front chamfering, extending from the outer angular part to the first inner angular part, and a chamfer reverse cutting edge extending from the outer angular portion to the second inner corner portion.
EFFECT: effective chamfering is provided.
