FIELD: foundry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to continuous casting of metal and can be used at control of geometrical shape of crystallizer. First and second opposite side walls (210, 220) and first and second end walls (230, 240) extending between the side walls form a mold cavity. At least one of the first and second side walls comprises two or more contact areas, each of which is located at a distance from the other along the length of at least one of the first and second side walls between the first and second ends of the side walls. Each contact area can displace relative to the straight section between the first and second ends of the side walls in response to the force applied outside the crystallizer cavity. Displacement on first contact area relative to straight section differs from displacement on second contact area relative to straight section. Force on each of two or more contact areas changes curvature of at least one of first and second side walls between first end face and second end face of opposite side walls.
EFFECT: providing dynamic control of the ingot profile and alignment of the inoculating block inside the crystallizer cavity.
