FIELD: electric power engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the electric power industry. System for constructing a power system model and performing power system modes calculations comprises a calculation core, an operator interface, a database including a set of standard equipment models, power system model generation subsystem including the power system elements addition unit and equipment parameters setting unit. Database includes an energy storage system model (ESSM). Power system elements addition unit is made with the possibility to add the ESSM model to the power system model. Equipment parameters setting unit is configured to set the ESSM parameters. For some types of calculation, the set of units of the ESSM model includes units of parameters of ESSM, control systems, calculation and control of charge level and a static generator. For other types of calculation, the set of units includes units of ESSM parameters, control systems, calculation and control of charge level, converter, generation of control signals of converter. Method of constructing a power system model and performing calculations is characterized by the fact that a ESSM model is created, it is added to a database; selecting power system elements and the ESSM model from the database and adding them to the power system model; establishing relationships between all elements of power system, setting their parameters; type of calculation is selected, its parameters are set, calculation, formation of calculation results and their output to interface are performed.

EFFECT: technical result is increase in power system model identity indicators with high reliability of calculations of its modes.
