FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy of non-ferrous metals, specifically to production of silumins in an electrolysis cell for aluminium production using amorphous microsilica as a silicon source. Silumins are obtained by reducing silicon from amorphous microsilica, obtained from dust of gas cleaning systems of electrothermal furnaces, in aluminium melt, by introducing amorphous microsilica together with the stream of inert gas directly into the molten primary aluminium using magnesium in an amount of up to 1 % of the weight of microsilica as an alloying surface-active additive, wherein before introduction of melt to reduce surface tension of melt, energy of interfacial interaction and intensification of silicon reduction process, microsilica is mixed with powdered magnesium, which is introduced by set of nozzles made of borosilicate graphite.
EFFECT: invention enables to obtain hypoeutectic, eutectic and hypereutectic silumins, which correspond to GOST 1583-93, with a fine-grained structure and high mechanical properties due to use as raw material unclaimed at present amorphous microsilica, which is a by-product of producing crystalline silicon.
