FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy and can be used at preparation of cast aluminium, hypoeutectic, eutectic and hypereutectic aluminium-silicone alloys (silumins). The method involves modification of a melt by carbon in the quantity of 0.05-0.5% of charge weight at the temperature of 740-800°C; carbon is introduced in a non-bound form and in a nanostructural state or in an amorphous state.
EFFECT: improvement of mechanical and operating characteristics of casts owing to reducing sizes of aluminium dendrites and all the component parts of structures an aluminium-silicone alloy: α-solid solution, eutectics and primary silicone crystals.
