FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy and can be used in the preparation of cast hypoeutectic, eutectic and hypereutectic aluminium-silicon alloys (silumins). In the smelting of these alloys shungite is used as a modifier.
EFFECT: technical result of the invention is to improve mechanical and operational characteristics of castings, produced from these alloys, by reducing the sizes of aluminum dendrites, α-solid solution, eutectics and primary silicon crystals.
