FIELD: medicine; urology.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in selecting the optimal method of eliminating renal concretions and reducing the excess injuring effect on the renal parenchyma. Concrement sizes are measured according to multispiral computer tomography. Concrement area is measured in axial, sagittal and coronal projections. Its average value is calculated. In the same projections the area of the section of high homogeneity is measured, at which the value of the mean-square deviation from the average density on the given section does not exceed 50±5 HU. Using bone density window and determining maximum density zone, calculating average area value of high uniformity area, then calculating the ratio of the average area of the high homogeneity to the average area of the concrement and if its value is less than or equal to 10 %, the successful outcome of the shock wave lithotripsy is predicted.

EFFECT: method enables predicting the effectiveness of the forthcoming remote shockwave lithotripsy procedure.
